Theme Descriptions
Lake Life- Hear stories about lakes and explore our lake, Lake Leuthorne, by foot or by canoe! We will learn about the lake and the animals that live in it, and create floating sculptures to launch into the lake.
Going on a Bear Hunt –Have you ever seen one of the black bears who live in the region? How much do you know about them? We’ll learn more about our neighbor bears while we go on a short hike and tell the classic tale.
All God’s Critters- What animals live at camp and where can we find them? Hear stories about all kinds of animals, great and small, and their habitats. We will sing a camp favorite, “All God’s Critters” and use the song as inspiration for an animal themed craft.
Fall Leaves- Hear stories about fall leaves, go on a short hike through the woods looking for different leaves and colors, and make a leaf-themed craft.
God’s Mud Kitchen- There is plenty of fun to be found in God’s mud kitchen! Hear a Bible story about God feeding people, experience interactive play by making “food” out of nature, and maybe even enjoy an edible muddy treat too.
Owls- Have a HOOT learning about owls and hearing some silly owl stories!
Feathered Friends – We’re flying into spring without feathered friends! Come learn about what birds are local to this area and see if we can spot any of them here at camp.
Rainbow Colors – Red birds, orange flowers, and green frogs are just a few of the colorful plants and animals we find at camp. Where will you find your favorite color? We will look for the many rainbows in nature to remind us of God’s promise to love and care for us!
Bugs, Bugs, Bugs – I spy with my little eye bees, butterflies, and bugs of all kinds! Creep, crawl or wiggle with us as we learn about our buggy residents.
Flowers – “Consider the flowers…” Jesus begins in Luke 12, pointing to nature as a sign of God’s love and provision. We’ll spend the afternoon considering the wildflowers and learning how God cares for them. Each child will then get a chance to plant a flower.
Home Builders – How do animals build a home? What kinds of homes do animals build? We will search for some different animal homes at camp and construct one of our own!
