Camp Noah

TO REGISTER FOR CAMP NOAH, PLEASE CALL 828-209-6302

The Red Cross and Lutheran Disaster Response invite you to join us for this special one-day camp event for elementary children who experienced Hurricane Helene. Through songs, skits, and fun games, children will spend the day at Lutheridge processing their experience of the storm and find comfort, healing, and hope for the future.

Screened and trained, caring volunteers and staff provide a safe, fun atmosphere for children to tell their stories, grieve their losses, and build resiliency skills. Each child who attends Camp Noah will receive lots of great stuff including a preparedness kit and blanket!

An independent study on the impact of Camp Noah concluded that:

Parents say…

  • Camp Noah helped their child work through their feelings about their disaster experience.
  • Their children’s behavioral problems had improved.
  • Their child seemed less afraid of the weather.
  • Their child had fun!
  • They would recommend Camp Noah to other parents whose child had been affected by a disaster.

Kids say…

  • They learned resiliency skills.
  • They learned how to be prepared.
  • They learned how to feel safe during stormy weather.
  • They had fun!
